2. Pandava Caves

5. Jata Shankar Caves

The most sacred and religious place of Hindus is Jata Shankar Caves. In this place, Lord Shiva took rest when a demon, Bhasmasur, was looking for him. The caves possess natural shiv lingam under the silhouette of the huge rock. The formation of the stones in these caves resembles the mythological hundred-headed snake, Sheshnag. The rocks in these caves bear a resemblance to the matted hair of Lord Shiva, and that gave the name ‘Jata Shankar’ to these caves.
