Vegetarians, look away! L'aubrac is the kind of restaurant a meat lover can’t resist. Locals love it, tourists love it… what can we say, c'est magnifique! The meat is cooked over an open fire by chefs who understand meat as no one else does. The menu consists of a large basket of around 12 different saucissons secs (dried sausages), from which you can cut as much as you like. Then you get a plate of ham and foie gras.
Only after that do you get either duck, steak or lamb. Of course, you can also eat a salad if this is too much meat for you. However, you should definitely try the duck with sliced fried potatoes and enjoy every bite of L'aubrac’s excellent dishes.

This friendly tapas bar is located in the center of Toulouse and is a great place to go for snacks and drinks. The food is excellent and fresh, ideal for a summer evening. As it is one of the most popular restaurants in the city, (even though it serves Spanish food, not French), Chez Vicente is always full, so if you’d like to have a more relaxing meal experience, we don’t recommend it. However, if you don’t mind a packed restaurant, you should definitely try it and figure out why it’s so popular.

Ignore the creepy name (‘Grandpa’s Attic’), this small, family-run restaurant specializes in fondues and we swear you won’t find any better anywhere in Toulouse, than here! You can have a full meal, entirely made of crepes: a filling dinner crepe and a sweet crepe for dessert.
The meals are great for such a reasonable price, so this is the restaurant you should go to if you’re on a budget but still want to have a fantastic dinner!

Toulouse: a meat-loving city with a sweet heart
If you’re a vegetarian, we’re sorry to say that you’ll have more difficulties finding restaurants and other places that don’t serve meat in Toulouse. It’s part of the city’s culture: comfort food made of meat are what the locals eat the most, so it’s natural that cool vegetarian restaurants can’t be found on every street.
However, if you’re a meat-lover, welcome to your new favorite city! Toulouse is filled with excellent restaurants serving incredible meat dishes. The desserts are always extraordinary, too and there are also plenty of bakeries where you can try famous French pastries and cakes. All you have to do now is add all of our suggestions to your itinerary and you’ll have the tastiest holiday, ever!
